Tom Pylinski, trombone 

Thomas Edward Pylinski holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Trombone Performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music and a Master of Music degree in Trombone Performance from the University of Akron.  He has studied with Edward Zadrozny, Steven Witser, Richard Stout, Harold Reynolds and John Marcellus.  Today, Tom maintains an active career as a freelance musician and private music teacher in Northeast Ohio.  He is principal trombonist of the Akron Symphony Orchestra, the Canton Symphony Orchestra and the Lancaster Festival Orchestra.  He has performed with numerous other ensembles including the Paragon Brass Quintet, the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra, Red {an orchestra}, the Cleveland Philharmonic Orchestra, the National Repertory Orchestra, the Chautauqua Music School Festival Orchestra, the Cleveland Institute of Music Orchestra and the University of Akron Symphonic Band. 

 

Tom is on the faculties of Malone University, the Avon School of Music and the Strongsville Academy of Music.  He has taught in the Ohio public school system as well as the Ohio Music Education Association Convention in Columbus.  In addition to his performance and teaching posts, Tom serves on the literature review staff of the International Trombone Association Journal, where he has recently had published several reviews of works for trombone ensemble.
