Based in Cleveland, the Ohio Brass Ensembles are an association of brass musicians who perform together and individually in a variety of professional ensembles, ranging from full symphony orchestras to small chamber groups. Our members hold principal and section positions in the symphonies of Akron, Canton, Mansfield, and Youngstown. Many of our members have performed with the Cleveland Orchestra, and Blossom Festival Band and Orchestra. Chances are, if you're attending an event in Northeast Ohio that features brass players, someone from our organization is on stage.
At the heart of our organization is the Cleveland Brass Quintet. The regular members of the quintet are Erik Hasselquist and Stephen Chapdelaine, trumpet, Meghan Guegold, french horn, Jason Smith, trombone, and Kenneth Heinlein, tuba. However, due to the busy performing schedules of the members of the quintet, it is not always possible to have all the regular members play. That's where the vast talent of the rest of the Ohio Brass Ensembles association come in. Also, the depth of our ranks gives us the ability to organize larger ensembles for special events and performances. Such larger ensembles could include trumpet, trombone, or horn choirs, as well as full brass choir.
